The Hillcrest Baptist Church in Georgia is the sponsor of this Project. They have been sending teams to the olympics for several years now. The main idea is to reach many different people from all over the world. Where else can we have the opportunity to witness to every nation in one location. We will be giving out different language translations of the Bible.

Now the hard part. . . All of these things cost money. We are seeking financial support from many different sources. Our goal, financially, is to raise enough money for all 14 from our church to spend a week in Vancouver spreading Gods Word. Following is additional information about what we need and how you can help.

Fundraising:

Our Young Adults and Youth Group have been raising money for the last few months in an attempt to raise enough money for all of us to go to the upcomming winter Olympics with the Olympic Bible Project.

We have to raise enough money for:

    -A room to stay in

    -Food

    -Plane Tickets to & From Vancouver

    -and other miscellaneous costs associated with this type of endeavour (Buy more Bibles, Tracts, etc.)

Our Goal is to raise $24,000.00 so we can all get to Vancouver, stay for about one week, and return home.

Fundraisers of the past:

On May 25th at our Annual Memorial Day Picnic, our Deacons, Pastor and Christian Eduaction Director all participated, whether they wanted to or not, in a "Kiss the Pig" competition. Each man had an empty Piggy bank at the beginning of the contest; but, by the end, the man with the most money in his bank had to Kiss a Cute Little Pot-Belly Pig. For an extra $500 (donated anonymously) each man had to kiss the pig. They all did. Praise God for the commitment our church leadership has to the spreading of the Gospel. Video of this wonderful event has been uploaded here.
